What if, instead of listening, we took the time to truly talk to one another?
As part of Black History Month, this evening offers an immersive roundtable experience designed to foster deep, authentic, and participatory dialogue around the theme Diaspora in Motion: Capital, Culture and Revival. Moving away from traditional conference or panel formats, the event invites participants to become fully engaged contributors to the conversation.
Participants will be divided into small groups and rotate between different roundtables. Discussions will explore diasporic journeys through multiple lenses: capital (economic, social, and symbolic), culture as a living heritage and space for creation, and revival understood as a process of reconstruction, reappropriation, and projection toward the future.
Conversations will be enriched by invited guests from academic, cultural, community, and entrepreneurial backgrounds, who take part in the discussions alongside participants. Invited voices include Dorothy Rhau (Audace au Féminin), Jamila Touré (Sayaspora), Judith Dorvil, a strategy and communications professional engaged in issues of representation and diasporic storytelling, Karim Coppry (Philo-Boxe), Evens Mensah, a PhD candidate specializing in diaspora and identity studies, and Gilbert Kofi Adarkwah, a professor specializing in organizational behavior and intercultural dynamics.
The evening will conclude with a collective plenary discussion, hosted by Cyrille Ekwalla, bringing forward shared insights, reflections, and key takeaways from the roundtables. A cocktail reception will follow, providing an opportunity to continue the conversations, build connections, and strengthen lasting relationships.
Join us for a truly memorable evening, filled with meaningful dialogue and a few surprises along the way. To ensure high-quality exchanges, space is limited.
