The organization ICI Image | Creation | Interpretation, in collaboration with the Ahuntsic library, invites the public to the literary evening “A book, an author” with Rodney Saint-Éloi where his book Quand il fait triste Bertha chante (Quebec America, 2020) will be discussed.
Poet, writer, essayist, editor, born in Cavaillon (Haiti), Rodney Saint-Éloi is the author of several books of poetry, anthologies and essays. He runs the publishing house Mémoire d’encrier which he founded in 2003 in Montreal. Mémoire d’encrier editions have set themselves the mandate of bringing together authors from various origins around a single requirement, the authenticity of voices.
He won the prestigious Charles Biddle Prize in 2012, then was admitted to the Académie des lettres du Québec in 2015. In 2019, he became a Companion of the Order of Arts and Letters of Quebec, and in 2021, he was named a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters of the French Republic.
