The event is part of the Mentorat en participation citoyenne program for and by young Afrodescendants. Set up three years ago by Éduconnexion, this program aims to support 30 to 45 young people, aged 14 to 19, in carrying out a civic engagement initiative that will enable them to acquire and strengthen their creative, entrepreneurial and civic skills. This program is part of the International Decade (2015-2024) for People of African Descent, as declared by the UN.
