This event aims to highlight the Afro-descendant community of Rivière-des-Prairies through a photo exhibition that focuses on Afro hair: created entirely by and with models and a young photographer from the neighborhood.
Afro hair is political, embodying hope, resilience, and a history that spans centuries, oceans, and borders. Through this exhibition, let's celebrate the pride, resilience, and heritage of Black communities.
The Le Phare Community Promotion Center, a pioneering organization in the Rivière-des-Prairies neighborhood and active for over 40 years in the Marie-Victorin public housing project, which primarily serves immigrant families, will support citizens in the creation of this exhibition.
