About the book
Benoît Blues is the story of two friends, a black man and a white man, who were the best friends in the world. We are in the heterogeneous scene of Paris in the 1980s. Friends become adults, they start their careers, have children, live a life of bobo, party as the dividing lines and social tensions intrude into the cocoon that they had created around them. After Benoît’s suicide, his best friend Geoffrey inherits his diary. We hear the voice of Benoît who upsets everything that Geoffrey thought he knew about their friendship, their identity, their youth. Through the eyes of Geoffrey, a whole constellation of characters as disarming as imperfect, expresses freely this youth that was called at the time "black-blanc-beur". A youth who invented a destiny, with friendship as a background, love, and music. And especially alcohol.
