As part of the 44th edition of the International Festival of Film on Art (FIFA), the Black History Month Round Table will co-present Mathieu Verdeil's film Claude McKay, errances d'un poète révolté (Claude McKay, Wanderings of a Rebel Poet).
About the film:
At the crossroads of Black literary consciousness and political struggle, the ideas of Jamaican poet and novelist Claude McKay laid the foundations for major literary movements. A proud vagabond, both bohemian and deeply politically engaged, a chameleon with a magnetic personality, he traveled the four corners of the world: the literary milieu of New York, the aristocracy of Paris, the communist intelligentsia in Russia, and the Black diasporas in the port of Marseille.
