
Journey to the heart of Afrofuturism with Mélodie Joseph, author of an Afrofantasy series and a thesis on Afrofuturism. Familiarize yourself with this unique literary genre, its raison d'être, its characteristics, and its leading authors. Borrow one of the books on the program from the Mercier Library : “Children of blood and bone T.1” by Tomi Adeyemi, “The Deep” by Rivers Solomon, and “La respiration du ciel” by Mélodie Joseph. You will have the opportunity to discuss your readings in a group setting, as well as with author Mélodie Joseph about her upcoming literary projects and her favorite works of Afrofuturist literature.
