The Round Table of Black History Month, in partnership with Héma-Québec, is organizing a crucial blood drive for Afro-descendant communities. This initiative aims to address the needs of individuals suffering from sickle cell anemia, a genetic disease that requires regular blood transfusions. Genetic compatibility between the donor and the recipient is a key factor in ensuring the optimal benefits of transfusions, making it all the more important that donors come from the same genetic background.
