The Côte-des-Neiges Black Community Association (CDNBCA) is proud to host its first-ever blood drive in partnership with Héma-Québec and The Round Table on Black History Month. This essential event is not just about giving blood—it's about making a profound impact on the lives of people in our community, particularly those living with sickle cell anemia, a genetic condition that affects over 6,000 people across the country, with the number continuing to grow.
Sickle cell anemia requires frequent blood transfusions to manage the condition. The effectiveness of these transfusions is significantly higher when donors and recipients share a genetic background. That's why this blood drive is so critical. By donating, you can help ensure that individuals with sickle cell anemia receive the care they need to thrive.
