On March 1, 2025, the “Culture(s) Noire(s)” project, in partnership with MIRS (Maison Internationale de la Rive Sud), offers a unique cultural immersion through acoustic performances and interactive workshops by two exceptional artists: Bo The Qu-ing and Gifrants. The event will take place at the Maison Internationale de la Rive Sud, offering a unique space to explore the richness of black musical traditions blended with contemporary influences.
Bo The Qu-ing, a Queer Afro artist renowned for her versatility and exceptional talent, will offer an immersive and poignant vocal and musical performance. A true sonic voyage, her performance will celebrate both the intimacy and the power of Afrodescendant artistic expression.Multidisciplinary artist Gifrants will introduce his innovative concept, “Natif”, through an interactive workshop that invites participants to reconnect with their cultural identity and explore notions of rhythm, belonging and creativity. The workshop will be a caring and inclusive space, designed to encourage self-expression and active participation. The artist will also invite participants to collaborate on the creation of a collective work, a moment of sharing and deep connection between artist and audience. This work will be filmed and shared on social networks, allowing this unique moment to live on beyond the event itself. A new dimension will be added to this collective creation through the formation of an “organic orchestra”, bringing together all participants for an unprecedented artistic and human experience.
The performances and workshops will be followed by open discussions with the artists, moderated by Joël Janis, spokesperson for the event. These exchanges will allow us to delve deeper into essential themes such as resilience, cultural diversity and the impact of the arts on sustainable development. Through these dialogues, the public will gain a better understanding of the social and cultural issues addressed, while immersing themselves in the artists' unique journeys.
The “Culture(s) Noire(s)” project aims to create an accessible, enriching and inclusive space for all participants. By combining artistic performances and collective reflection, this event aims to celebrate the diversity of black cultural experiences and strengthen the bonds between individuals through art.
With Gifrants and Bo The Qu-ing, this evening promises to be much more than just a performance: it will be a participatory cultural experience where artistic expressions become a vehicle for connection, sharing and transformation.
Join us on March 1, 2025 for this celebration of art and culture, an event where creativity, exchange and self-exploration will be at the heart of every moment.
