Le Festival Massimadi, édition spéciale, célèbre le Mois de l'Histoire des Noirs du 15 au 18 février 2024 au Musée McCord avec le thème de la Transcendance. Cette
célébration cinématographique propose une variété de films, dont le documentaire d'ouverture, Disruptor Conductor (2019), qui offre un regard captivant sur la vie du chef d'orchestre afro-canadien Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser. Parmi les œuvres marquantes, Who I am Not (2023) de Tunde Skovran explore l'expérience intersexuée de manière émouvante, tandis que All the Colours of the World Are Between Black and White (2023) de Babatunde Apalolo aborde les défis des relations LGBTQ+ dans une société où l'homosexualité demeure taboue.
