Few people know that there were African, Afro-descendant, and Indigenous individuals enslaved in New France and under British rule until the early 19th century. Webster sheds light on this overlooked chapter of our history and examines the presence of people of African descent, whether captive or free, who have inhabited Quebec and Canada since the beginnings of the colony. In collaboration with the Maison de la Culture du Plateau-Mont-Royal. This project is funded by the Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration and the City of Montreal.
