Every February, during Black History Month, we celebrate the Black History Arts Festival, dedicated to promoting Black art and culture. Since 2021, organized by our partner cultural association SLAM MASTER, the festival has been carrying out activities aligned with Gabon's cultural policy law, anticipating the guidelines the government will formalize in 2024 regarding the promotion and preservation of cultural and artistic heritage. Building on its track record of launching and supporting the careers of emerging young artists and developing projects, the Black History Arts Festival has, in its previous editions, passionately promoted its culture while simultaneously developing the Cultural and Creative Industries sector in Gabon.
Following four editions successively sponsored by Annie Flore Batchiellilys, Justine Mintsa, Aziz Inanga, and Angèle Epouta, the Slam Master association organized the 5th edition of the Black History Arts Festival, which took place from February 1st to 28th, 2025, at the National Museum of Arts and Rites of Gabon, the French Institute of Gabon, and other iconic venues in Libreville, under the theme "The Future is the Origin." The sponsor of this edition was Honorine Ngou.
The Black History Arts Festival has thus become a benchmark in terms of developing cultural and creative industries in Gabon.
